The STANCE review took place in Brussels on the 26th of November and had benefited from the process of counting with the advice of an innovation expert as explained below:
DG CONNECT has undertaken a new initiative to collect structured data about the innovation profile of their projects. The goal of this is to identify high potential innovators and innovations within EU funded research projects and to identify their specific "go to market" needs. The Innovation Radar wants to achieve this objective by making use of innovation / market experts in annual project monitoring reviews that discuss/challenge/understand the innovation aspects and strategies of a project and its individual partners while helping them define the best innovation path to be followed. The output of this exchange will be captured via structured data entered in a web form, including "go to market" needs of partners with innovation potential.
There will be an immediate benefit to projects from this process. One of its outputs will be tailored and concrete recommendations from the innovation expert for the project to improve its innovations and their potential to deliver impact in – or close to - the market place. This will be provided immediately after the project review (the data collected will be subsequently analysed).
More news on this subject will follow soon.
